Fiji battens down as Cyclone Yasa hits the islands

50 yachts moved to mangrove waters for protection

Some 50 foreign yachts that were anchored in Fijian waters have been moved to the southern mangrove waters in the South Pacific nation to help protect them as the Category 5 Cyclone Yasa hits the two main islands. The country has declared a State of Natural Disaster emergency and the 930,000 Fijian population was warned to move to higher ground.
